How much would a 5 karat flawless princess cut diamond ring be?

The ring was 5 karat (avalible in 4.5 and 4) princess cut diamond on a platinum band. Flawless. It has one stone on either side each being 1 karat. It was breathtakingly beautiful but the price wasn't listed. I really need to know how much it would be. I wanna propose to my gf. I'm prepared to spend from 10 to 60 grand. Is it in my budget or do I need to take a second morage on my house?

Start at 100k+ for the center stone of 5 carats that is very good quality.

I don't get it... does she mean she wants a relationship w/ a guy who can give her those?

She wants a very expensive diamond engagement ring before 'that' happens. Followed by marriage to the rich idiot who buys it.

How much would it be if it was on a platimun band with smaller stone on either side. Smaller being a karat each.
Would the ring being described be nice?

I think you are going overboard. I looked at your profile. Flawless refers to the clarity of the diamond. There are also grades of VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2 which flaws need a 10x loupe to be seen.

Also you want to consider color D,E,F are all considered colorless.
Cut is the hardest thing to grade but the most important.

A flawless 1 carat diamond would cost you over 10k.

Look at some online sites to get an idea of what you want.

2-3 carat diamond rings are considered excessive.

the ring i found a year ago is a 1 carat flawless pigeon blood colour ruby. it is antique because it is all worn away nearly. i think it is 12 carat gold or more. do you know it's value? I have seen a similar ring for 2,000 pounds. please help!

first you need to put an ad in the paper or find out if someone was looking for it . the only way you find out its value is an antique jeweler. look in the yellow pages. or ask around

In my opinion, this is easy : ask your local jeweler what he can supply you. He can get that very easily for you.
It is much more difficult to find top quality diamonds !

A remark on some the web-offers : many times it is very hard to find detailed info on the diamonds they sell, the pictures are not the actual product. Above, a lot of diamonds are HPHT-treated or laser-drilled to have its apparent clarity improved, .... If it is the real deal you will find plenty of proof of it advertised ! Incredible bargains in diamond business simply don't exist at all.
Buy from an expert, and buy in confidence, so go to see your store. And ask many questions !
And ... ALWAYS require a report from a famous third party gemological lab (such as GIA or IGI, ...).
