www.weddingvowrings.com. Who else wants to see the most romantic Celtic knot ring in the world? Each Celtic knot ring is personally engraved ...

what is the significant of a man wearing a silver celtic knot ring on the right hand?

That all depends.. there are several explanations

1) he's Irish
2) he could just like the design of it- and therefore wear it
3) it could have been given to him by a friend, parent, g/f
4) he could be dating someone- I know this holds true for Irish girls (if they actually want to- you dont have to)- but they wear a ring on their right hand.. if they are available its pointed one way, if they arent its pointed another.. and if they're married it will be put on their left hand

Hope that helps! Celtic knot rings generally speaking represent the love two people have for each other, and that it is intertwined.. their love.. and that it goes on forever and never stops

it doesnt matter which hand it is on i believe, it matters which way the heart faces though, towards the body means your heart is taken, away from the body means you're free

if it has a crown on the ring it means usually that he is single but also if you change the ring around it means he is taken.

what are Celtic Knot Ring's?

I know its an Irish thing, and I know it has something to do with no beginning and no end. But what do people use it for, like meanings, and occasion's?

If I remember right it has something to do with love, being that it's one intertwined knot that continues eternally around itself. I'm pretty sure it was a symbol of marriage.

Aside from celtic knots and ScotsGaelic, is there a gem or language like Ogham(Irish) to make a ring Scottish?

Kind of a strange question as I know Scottish ring = celtic knots or Scots-Gaelic... Just looking at any other options. Our background is Scottish and we're pretty artsy folk; we want to be really unique with our Scottish influence to our rings. I really love the Ogham alphabet, but understand it's primarily Irish based. So anything similar out there? Iconography? Any national gems or other touches that would be easy to add to a custom made ring? Thanks!!

Edited to add: Sorry, Klute, I meant written language, not spoken, which is why I refered to Ogham as 'alphabet' in my details.

Ogham was used in both Ireland and Scotland (also to some extent in Wales). It was the precursor to both Irish and Scottish gaelic.

Unfortunately its seems all the focus is generally on the Ogham inscriptions from Ireland so its very difficult to find anything from Scotland because most of the examples come from Ireland.

Heres paper you can read about it though.

http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/adsdata/PSAS_2002/pdf/vol_018/18_180_206.pdf

It describes some of the examples found in Scotland.

I dont really know of any gems or anything. You could just put a Gàidhlig inscription.

The Irish don't speak Ogham they speak Gaelic. Ogham is an Irish alphabet.

I want to design a silver celtic/gaelic ring?

Where do you think I would find the best information on celtic culture and where would I be able to translate english to irish or scottish gaelic correctly? And information on celtic knots?

Thank you

Love,

Chloe

The National Museum of Ireland in Dublin has ancient Celtic jewelry. You can prob find pix on the web.

The Book of Kells (again, pix on the web) with its incredible artwork will surely inspire you.

My boyfriend bought me a ring..What does this mean?

About 2 weeks ago I was talking to my boyfriend about engagement rings. It was a totally random conversation that I has brought up due to a dear friend of mine recently becoming engaged. I mentioned how I would like to have a celtic knot as an engagement ring and he asked me where I would even find them and I named off a few stores around our area that might sell them.
Fast forward 2 weeks. We were out shopping and I saw a celtic knot ring that I liked but was a mens ring and much too big for me. My boyfriend then said 20 minutes later "oh, if you find a ring you like i'll get it for you" A few hours later I find a ring and it was about 15 dollars sterling silver and PERFECT. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it.
It didn't hit me until I got home about what I had said 2 weeks prior about wanting a celtic knot engagement ring. Maybe I'm looking too far into this. Maybe he just thinks of it as another peice of jewlery that I'll wear. I just need some other opinons on this :)

I wouldn't take it as an engagement ring. Guys tend to be very clear about commitment - so if it's unclear, it's probably just him being very sweet and wanting to make you happy.

COOK/Tasty recipes for New Year's gatherings Philadelphia Neshoba Democrat

Whether you plan to spend New Year's Eve hosting a large or small dinner party or spending the evening at home with a good book and family, there's plenty of time left to prepare something tasty to serve as you ring in the new year.

Cheese balls, stuffed jalapeno peppers and tasty drummettes would be a good start for any size party. For a more low key gathering, why not consider Mexican cornbread and potato soup as you watch the New Year's Eve ball fall in Times Square.

The ball has a new look this year as workers installed nearly 300 new Waterford crystal triangles on the giant ball Sunday. The new crystals feature an interlocking ribbon pattern, woven into a Celtic knot.

The 288 triangles are custom-built to withstand high winds, snow, rain and temperature fluctuations in their spot 400 feet above Times Square.

The ball-drop tradition, which is televised locally, dates back to 1907.

Below are some of recipes from this year's cooks of the week which would be ideal for any New Year's event.

BRANDY'S SALSA

(Brandy Alford)

2 cans peeled tomatoes

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

10 jalapeno slices

2 tomatilos

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons garlic salt

3 tablespoons ground cilantro

Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend. Sprinkle in salt. Bring a boil for 10 minutes. Then serve.

STUFFED JALAPENO PEPPERS

(Laney Wilkerson)

8 ounces cream cheese

4-cheese Mexican cheese in a bag

1 pound Jimmy Dean sausage

20 jalapeno peppers

Brown sausage and drain. Mix sausage, cream cheese and half of the bag of Mexican cheese. Using gloves, slice peppers in half and remove all seeds. Spoon mixture onto pepper halves and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

CHICKEN CHEESE BALL

(Laney Wilkerson)

2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
