Betsy's Best Bets: Reaping the benefits and rewards of home parties Friday Flyer
05.03.10
I am such a sucker for home parties. I know people who groan and roll their eyes when they are invited to a home cooking show or a candle party. Not me! I enjoy the fun of the party almost as much as the shopping opportunities themselves. Plus, I know I am helping a friend make a sale or earn free products when I make a purchase. There are usually games and give-aways, and there is sure to be good food, especially at the kitchenware parties!
I love gadgets and new stuff, and these at-home parties are my kind of fun. The salespeople always wow me with their tips and tricks and I usually leave with new information or techniques. I have learned how to cook a chicken in the microwave in minutes, studied how to hug a candle to keep it from becoming lopsided, had a charcoal facial and sipped my first chocolate martini.
Ive been to them all: candles, kitchenware, jewelry, home decorating, you name it. Well, almost. I havent yet been to one of those parties, but I know they are out there and gaining popularity.
There seem to be so many new home party options available that I just had to sit down and make a list of what I am missing out on! Gone are the days when the home party options were limited to burping Tupperware lids with your girlfriends. It seems that more and more companies are developing home party options and the rewards for hosts are impressive. Plus, rewards are even greater this time of year since the holiday shopping frenzy has died down. Now is the time to host a home party and reap the rewards!
One of the newest companies to offer in-home sales parties is Dove Chocolate Discoveries. A Dove chocolatier comes to your home and shows off an up-scale line of Dove chocolate products that is not available in stores. What follows is a tasting party in which guests sample chocolate
