I have a beautifula cat charm and it is marked as 925. What does it mean?
925 is a commonly used mark for sterling silver.

925 means that it is Sterling silver, I have no idea what it means on gold.
You may find this link useful it has a lot of hall marks listed on it.

What does it mean if sterling silver does not have a 925 on it?
Feb 09, 2008 by Sammy L | Posted in Fashion & Accessories
I inherited my grandmother's charm bracelet, and all of the charms have the word STERLING on the back, and some of the charms have a wierd sing on the back. It looks like a family crest with a cursive W and T or F on the back. The charms might have been added at different times. Thank you for helping me.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The minimum millesimal fineness is 925.

It means the content of silver in it. A pure silver is weak, so it has to be added with some other material in order to make it a bit harder for it to be mold nicely to whatever shape the maker wanted.

My sterling silver charm turning copper colourish...?
Aug 23, 2008 by Camila P | Posted in Fashion & Accessories
i think i cleaned it a little toooo much. it looks like copper more than silver and it says 925. its expensive, it holds a jade gemstone. How can i fix this or prevent it from getting worse?
well i was gonna say it could be dirty so clean it with silver cleaner.
but if you did already clean it and you cleaned it correctly then what could be happening is that it may be silver plated. so the main piece of jewerly is copper and the is covered in silver.
if thats the case i dont know what to tell you.
sorry ):

its either not real silver or its starting to become tarnished. in order to fix this put it in a plastic bag when you are not wearing it as the air can make it worse :) also next time you want it cleaned take it to a jewler, its not very expensive and will keep it safe :)

Sweetie that must not be real silver lol

You should get it replated becos it sounds like what you bought was juz normal plated jewelry and that plating is coming off. Then after that, keep it in a box or a cloth pouch when you're not wearing it. Silver tends to change colour more easily, so if you dun wan2 deal with this again, try rhodium plated jewelry nxt time.

May 01, 2007 by troutpotato | Posted in Blues
I have an official Hatchetman Charm from 2003.... It looks so beat down that it ain't even funny... I've tried all kinds of crazy things to try and get the original shineyness but nothing works..... PLEASE HELP!?!?
It has the words "ICP2003 925" on the back if that helps matters....
they made a few editions......whats it made of?...the gold, silver or the very rare one out of gun metal?....if its gold or silver then drop it in a glass of fizzy coke over night.......... works for my rings and stuff
