How should I do my hair for the homecoming dance?

I have long, straight, layered (kind of thick) black hair that goes down to the middle of my back. I'm wearing a purple halter dress with a crystal brooch in the middle with black heels. How should I do my hair for the dance that won't take so long to do?

Hmm...since you always wear long straight hair, curling the bottom would be a nice fashionable change!

Basically, teasing your hair at the back a bit will give you a bit of a nice glamourous bob at the back, which will be quick and long lasting if you use hairspray to keep it up.

You should get side bangs that aren't too short, and your leftover hairs at the front should help frame your face. Side bangs are REALLY in these days.

Since you're wearing a halter, long hair let down would look the most balanced, rather than having it up and leaving a sort of emptiness in between.

Hope you have a great time!! (:

I like these and there all pretty simple:

Curl it and wear it down. Up-do's are kind of old.

I think half up and half down would look nice. Curl the lengths and leave small curls at the front loose to frame your face.

Just make any hairstyle that suits you and the one in which u feel comfortable while dancing.

What exactly is The Red Hat Society about?

I had noticed a lot of red and purple hats and accessories etc. And noticed the name on a brooch in the two colors

"The Red Hat Society is a social organization where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life."

Old women who have had no friends since their sorority days, sort of a senior version of college inaneness.

With what/to where could I wear this dress? (Description inside)?

It's a tan color tweed shift dress, with 3/4 sleeves. The cuffs and collar are mink. Very cute. Vintage.

I'm in college, so it's not a "walk around campus" dress.

I was thinking of wearing it with brown kitten heels that I already have and maybe buy a vintage brooch in purple or green or orange.

Any ideas what I should where it with? Where and when?

1] church
2] out to dinner
3] high tea?
Get a brooch in gold with amethyst, emerald, topaz,or smoky quartz stones [ real or synthetic ], and gold button or shrimp earrings.
I wear lots of tans/browns, so am good at accessoring these
colors! I'd love to see the dress! Could you Email me a pic?

It sounds fabulous!

It doesn't really sound like a nightclub dress, though. Maybe to like christmas parties or something like that?

You could wear it with the brown heels, or red heels with a matching hair band. I bet you could even get away with white shoes if you'd like. Wear it when you go out..on a date maybe?

Bought a dress now need to stay warm!?

I'm going to the UK in December and my husband and I are wanting to go to the theatre and to Paris to the Moulin Rouge, unfortunately it's summer here in Australia and my dress is an evening gown but no sleeves. Now it's a dark purple flowing to the ground with a gathered waist and a brooch. The material is very soft but also a little clingy (it's gorgeous) now I need something to wear over the top, that will 1. Keep my warm enough and 2. Won't ruin my dress

Any ideas?

Try a pashmina shawl. They come in so many different colors and are very soft and warm. Plus, there are many different way to wear one and they can be dressed up or down with other outfits.

NAILs/JEWLERY/HAIR/MAKEUP FOR HOMECOMING??!?

my homecoming is a week from now and i need some help. okay so my dress is a deep purple and has a brooch type thing in the middle that is bronze/goldish. the dress is a tad longer than knee length, and is a halter style dress. my hair is black and i have brown skin and brown eyes. what colors eyeshadow/blush should i dooo? also, what kind of hair/jewelry/shoes/nails/toes??? HELP ME PLEASEEEE
okay so i bought my shoes, and then are gold. annnnd im getting my makeup done by my neighbor and i just bought 2 of eyeshadow and she can choose what to use, and like she should have stuff for me too. the 2 eyeshadows i got are a plum color that matches my dress, and a goldish bronze! but still i need advice.

Your dress sounds gorgeous! SInce you have darker skin, i think gold would look really good on you, especially with the dark purple. Get bronze/gold shoes like the brooch in the middle, bronze jewelry, and, if you think bronze nail arent to much, opt for a simple french manicure. Im not that talented with makeup colors and stuff, but you can try a bronze eyeshadow...too much bronze??? Oh, and wear your hair in loose curls
